On April 17 of 2015, a Moscow — Kazan high-speed rail line regional information center was launched in Kazan. Its establishment was attributed to the necessity of efficient and comprehensive information support for the construction of the Moscow — Kazan — Yekaterinburg high-speed rail line HSR 2. The main objective of the center is to provide the general public with current information about the status of project implementation, create an efficient system of interaction with the residents of localities adjacent to HSR 2, offer opportunities to the general public to learn about the stages of project implementation, the project’s technical and economic indicators and secondary social impact, etc. The center will offer a brief overview of the region, general information about the route of Moscow — Kazan HSR 2, the attraction area of the localities, and description of the rail line (substantiation of the selected route, stops, travel time, structures to be built, development of additional infrastructure). At the center, one can learn about the impact of HSR 2 construction on creation of new jobs for the residents of Tatarstan, development of the region as a tourism cluster, economic development of the region, and comparative analysis of impact of the HSR construction on development of the regions of the route in foreign countries. Additionally, the information center will hold exhibitions of sites pertaining to the project (posters, models, etc.), organize tours, lectures and other activities aimed at increased interest in the high-speed rail transport among young people.
