Vladimir Putin about Moscow–Kazan HSR: «If the access to European financing is limited, China«s proposal will be decisive».

Russian President Vladimir Putin commented today on potential obstacles in financing the construction of Moscow-Kazan high-speed railway line and said that Chinese financing may be raised. “In such large-scale projects as construction of a high-speed railway, in this case Moscow-Kazan line and the extensions, it is an economic question, a question of costs, including the cost of lending. It is no longer a question to our Government. If the project participants have a limited access to European financing, we will not have many options left. In this case, the Chinese financing proposal may be decisive”, he said in answering the media.
